Who We Are

The Movement for Dialogue and Non-Violence (MODAN) is a nonprofit that equips people to use dialogue, nonviolence and self-reliance to create a sustainable and just world for all.

The policy of MODAN is to promote understanding and awareness of self-reliance and non-violence as culture and a method of wealth creation and civic virtue in managing diversity, creating harmonious co-existence among people, especially the youth and women in society.

This calls for commitment to Self-Reliance and Nonviolence as a way of life and witness to the values that enhance human dignity in society.

The Origin of Our Inspiration

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi, dedicated his life to truth, dialogue, non-violence and self-reliance. His philosophy transformed societies through peaceful action and inspired generations to pursue justice without hatred.

The Movement for Dialogue and Non-Violence (MODAN) draws its inspiration from these timeless principles. We promote dialogue as a culture, non-violence as a way of life and self-reliance as a pathway to human dignity, sustainable development and harmonious coexistence.
